Three Quantathons.
Four research domains.
One centre.

A student research group in quantum computing, and the people who run Quantathon.

SCROLL TO COLLAPSE THE WAVEFUNCTION
Superposition

A qubit holds every state until something measures it.

Computation

Gates in order. The maths becomes a program you can run.

Entanglement

Entangle two qubits and neither one has its own answer.

Members from the 2024 roster went on to BosonQ Psi, C-DAC and BNY Mellon. All 37 alumni

Research

What we work on.

Work from student–faculty research groups at the SRM Qkrishi Centre of Excellence in Quantum Information and Computing. Four active lines, each with people on it now.

Publications and preprints are listed here as they are indexed.

Domains

9 ways in.

Each one has a faculty mentor, a student head, and its own task round. Move through them.

Quantum Finance

Pricing, portfolios and risk on quantum hardware — and an honest account of where the classical method still wins.

Trajectory

Since 2022.

  1. 2022
    Founded

Established under the SRM Qkrishi Centre of Excellence in Quantum Information and Computing.

  2. 2023
    Quantathon 1.0

The first edition: six tracks taking students from quantum fundamentals to real-world problems over two days.

  3. 2024
    Quantathon 2.0

Run online with a prize pool backed by Polygon, ETHIndia, and Aptos. Teams of one to four, free to enter, judged on working submissions.

  4. Quantathon 3.0

Open to any student regardless of experience, with teams of up to four. Projects spanned quantum algorithms, machine learning, cryptography, and applied optimisation.

Projects

Member work.

Projects are published from member records once a mentor has approved them, so what appears here is work that was actually reviewed. Nothing is listed yet — this is the first cycle running on the new system.

The collective

Who runs it.

The roster is generated from member accounts, so it stays current instead of being maintained by hand. It fills in as faculty mentors, domain heads, and members are added.

Recruitment · Open

Your state is still undecided.

Most members joined with no quantum background. What you need is comfort with programming and the patience to read something hard more than once.

How it goes
  1. 01

    Application

Background, interests, and a short written response. One evening.

  2. 02

    Review

Read by the domain lead and its faculty mentor.

  3. 03

    Task round

Real assigned work with a deadline, reviewed by a mentor. This is the round that decides it.

  4. 04

    Conversation

A short talk about what you built and why.

  5. 05

    Decision

Accepted, waitlisted, or a clear no.
